How Far Can Jayden Daniels Take Commanders in Year 1?

In 2012 a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback took the reigns of Washington's franchise and led them to their first division title in over a decade.

It hasn't exactly been a decade, but Jayden Daniels could certainly be on the same path in his first season now as the Washington Commanders' starting quarterback.

With the official announcement coming from new head coach Dan Quinn, Daniels is expected to hit the ground running for a Commanders team that has been the doormat of the NFC East recently - even despite having an NFC East title more recently than the New York Giants.

Can Daniels take Washington to the playoffs in his first season similar to what Robert Griffin III did over a decade ago?

There certainly is a reason why it could be possible.

Washington's defense has gone through major transformations in free agency and the offense still has some talented individuals like Terry McLaurin and Austin Ekeler on the roster.

If Daniels can perform admirably without turning the ball over at a clip that his predecessor did, the Commanders won't just improve on their three-win total from last season, but even compete for a playoff spot.

Even in a tougher overall division now than when they won that title back in 2012.
