Nomination for new Coeur d'Alene City council member fails on final meeting for Mayor Jim Hammond

I live in the county to the North, but not too sure why the mayor is resigning, but on the one side I can see recommendations of a replacement, because a recommendation is not an appointment. Now if the mayor did something illegal to lead to the resignation then his recommendation should have been null and void before the vote to prevent bias or “favors”.At least he did the proper thing and not break the tie vote to indicate potential favoritism so there’s that at least . Probably for the best that there was a tie vote. Regardless of reason for Mayors resignation. And at least it wasn’t an appointment for future replacement.
