Personally, I do have trouble starting difficult conversations. I think it stems from my last relationship with a narcissist. He would never accept any responsibility whatsoever with anything he might have done. It was always my fault and that I was crazy. So now, in my new relationship, I find myself not wanting to address something that is bothering me. So I keep it inside, but when I finally address the issue, my now boyfriend is totally open and doesn’t think it’s a big deal at all. In fact he puts me at ease, and he didn’t realize that he was causing me to feel bad. So we talk about it, and work it out. That is something that I haven’t been used to for the last 20 years.
