    Man arrested after reckless driving with child in the car

    JACKSON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man’s reckless driving and fleeing from police leaves him facing child neglect charges.

    On the specified date, a detective saw a green Hummer H3 leave the address at 12482 Point Pleasant Road in Mt. Alto, Jackson County, VW. As it exited the parking lot, the vehicle accelerated quickly, swerving to the right before speeding away. The detective attempted to catch up to the car and reached it near the intersection of Point Pleasant Road and Schoolhouse Run Road.

    At that point, the detective turned on my emergency lights and sirens. The driver then turned sharply onto Schoolhouse Run Road, sliding through the intersection and off the road again. The vehicle gained speed on this single-lane, unmarked highway and continued to drive recklessly, preventing him from getting any closer.

    It entered the two-lane marked roadway of Cottageville Road and continued to drive dangerously.

    Eventually, the vehicle stopped on Pinnell Street in Cottageville, VW. The driver exited immediately, carrying an infant child, and tried to flee into a nearby trailer. The child was handed off to a neighbor who witnessed the chase.

    The detective was able to apprehend the driver, Michael Eads, due to his reckless behavior that endangered the child’s life. As a result, Michael Eads was arrested and charged with one count of Child Neglect, Creating Risk of Injury, and one count of Fleeing with Reckless Indifference .
