1 person injured in Kanawha Turnpike crash

KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – One person has been taken to the hospital after a crash on the Kanawha Turnpike.

According to Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers, the crash happened around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday in South Charleston on the Kanawha Turnpike near Union Carbide Drive, which leads into the West Virginia Regional Technology Park. Dispatchers say only one vehicle was involved.

Metro 911 says the vehicle went into the guardrail, but there is no word on what caused the crash.

One person was taken to the hospital, but there is no word on their condition at this time.

The crash had one lane of the Kanawha Turnpike closed, but it has since reopened.
