    Local roundup: Hazleton Area golf edges Valley West for a victory

    Luke Palmieri shot a 40 for medalist honors as Hazleton Area defeated Wyoming Valley West 168-172 Wednesday at Valley Country Club in Wyoming Valley Conference golf.

    Gabe Fatula finished with a 41 for the Cougars. Troy Gaydos (42) and Mke Zamonas (45) also figured in the scoring.

    Luke Ginochetti led Valley West with a 41 followed by Kaden Dittus with a 42 and Chris McNew with a 44 and Jake Dubasleas with a 45.

    Crestwood 154, Holy Redeemer 162

    Sienna Smith shot a 2-over 36 to post the top score as Crestwood won at the Lehman Golf Club.

    Tommy Biscotti and Brady Johnson each had a 37 for the Comets. Luke Joseph carded a 44.

    Jack Hurst and Arden Brunn each shot a 37 for Redeemer. Max Bowen had a 43 and Mackenzie Chimock had a 45.

    Wilkes-Barre Area 175, Nanticoke Area 230

    Brady Gerrity and Tyler Daugherty each had a 41 to tie for medalist honors as the Wolfpack prevailed at Wilkes-Barre Municipal.

    Aiden Wiedlich (43) and Teague Stahovic (50) also scored for WBA.

    Lucas Yendreiwski (52) and Treyton Mishanski (54) paced Nanticoke Area.

    Wyoming Area 162, MMI Prep 191

    Aiden August had a solid day for the Warriors, carding a 1-over 36 to lead all competitors in a win at Fox Hill. Teammate Mario Belza turned in a 38 while Jeremy Layland and Joseph Onda each had a 44 for Wyoming Area.

    The Preppers were led by Joe Mayernik (40), who was followed by Bryce Radzwich, Philip Benyo and Gavin Serock.

    Lake-Lehman 159, Hanover Area 224

    Jackson Norconk led the field with a 38 to give the Black Knights the win at Wyoming Valley Country Club.

    Charlie Weidner and Von Voelker were right behind with a 39 and 40, respectively. A.J. Borchert and Conner Smigelski each shot a 42.

    Jeff Peck shot a 46 to top the Hawkeyes. Also scoring were Dylan Martin, Cam Kratz and Kaeden McArdle.
