Chiefs Coach On WR Logjam: 'Good To Have Tough Decisions!'

The Kansas City Chiefs have one more game left in their preseason schedule, which means that roster cuts will be coming sooner rather than later.

One position that is of interest is the wide receiver spot, with a host of players fighting for a select few spots.

The Chiefs' final preseason game against the Chicago Bears is the last chance for players to stake their claim on the roster and make the coaching staff take notice.

For offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, having all the receivers put their best foot forward means there will be tough decisions to be made.

“There’s obviously some numbers we feel pretty good about,” Nagy said. “I think it's more common sense than anything with these guys and who they are. But then there’s that competition part, and we still have this game coming up here, which is going to be valuable for a lot of these guys, and they know that. It’s good to have tough decisions.”

Like likes of Justyn Ross (1 rec, 23 yards in preseason), Cornell Powell (4 rec, 88 yards, 1 TD), Nikko Remigio (5 rec, 51 yards), and even Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore will be using the final preseason game to put their best foot forward.

With the depth chart having Rashee Rice , Justin Watson, Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, and Mecole Hardman at the top, it will be a fascinating battle against the Bears to see who shines and who doesn't.

After all, the fate of their 2024 season might just rest on the next four quarters of football.
