Greeneville City Schools, and Greeneville High School and Athletic Department has announced that Lilly Million has been named softball coach.

Million will graduate from King University with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies, a minor in Elementary Education K-5, and an endorsement in ESL K-12 in December.

During Million’s time at King, she was a four-year player for the Lady Tornado softball program with 73 starts in 97 appearances. Million and her teammates won two Conference Carolinas regular season championships and one tournament championship.

In 2024, Million was selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team and was a member of the National College Athlete Honors Society.

Million is a Greeneville High grad who helped the Lady Devils to district championships in 2018 and 2019. She was chosen all-conference and all-district tournament twice.

Million will not take the reins of Greeneville’s program until she graduates in December. Former coach Matt Million, Lilly’s father, will lead the Lady Devils’ fall program.

Once the younger Million takes over, the elder Million will step back into a volunteer assistant role.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Lilly back to GHS as the head softball coach,” said Greeneville athletic director Brad Woolsey. “She has excelled in the classroom and on the playing field, and we look forward to her leading the Lady Devil softball program.

“Matt Million has been and continues to be a tremendous asset to our softball program and our school. We are thankful for his willingness to lead our team and continually stand in the gap for our girls.”
