The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help locating a 15-year-old Virginia girl who has been missing for five weeks. Alaina Hendricks and a friend ran away on July 18 from a group home where they were staying in Henrico, VA.

While the friend, 17-year-old Hailey Yost, has been found, Alaina remains missing. According to Hendricks' aunt and guardian, Cybil Nance, she has been told Yost "is a minor and isn't speaking" to authorities.

As the search for Alaina stretches on, Hendricks' family has become increasingly desperate. “As a parent, your clock doesn’t stop. You’re constantly worrying,” Nance said. “The days, evenings, and weekends we go with no contact—we just sit and wait.”

Alaina has brown eyes and brown hair that may have been dyed red. She is 5'5" and weighs about 140 pounds. According to the Campbell County Sheriff's Office, she was last seen in Glen Allen, VA. One report put her with Yost on July 18 at about 3:45 p.m. in the 11300 block of West Broad Street in Short Pump.

The Sheriff’s Office said it "does not know where or with whom Hendricks may be, but the agency wants to see her safely reunited with her guardians." Anyone with relevant information should contact the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office at 434-592-9580 or Crime Stoppers at 888-798-5900.

In a recent Facebook post, Nance expressed the family's gratitude toward the officers involved in the case: "Yes, she went missing from Henrico County and that is where her case is assigned. . .but with that being said I have to give credit where credit is due... Campbell Country Sheriff's Office has stepped in and given so much support to helping in any way possible. . .they are giving any and all resources they can within their ability."
