Florida State Message Boards Are Going Viral After Loss To Georgia Tech

    2024-08-24

Florida State fans aren't taking the Seminoles' upset loss to Georgia Tech lightly.

FSU came into the game as an 11.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel. But the Yellow Jackets' stingy defense and effective ground game ultimately sent the Seminoles back home with a 24-21 defeat.

After finishing the 2023 regular season a perfect 13-0, Mike Norvell's 'Noles have lost their last two games, both to teams out of the state of Georgia. But this time, there are no opt-outs or "meaningless" bowl game excuses to fall back on.

From losing to "nerds," to questioning the ability of defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, FSU's message boards are chaotic as the loss sets in.

"Losing to a bunch of nerds, that's an extra level of sadness," one user wrote.

"Meanwhile our trash a– team is going to hang back in Ireland and take in the sights," another added.

"Can they please leave Fuller in Ireland," a user wrote.

Expectations demand results for the top teams in the sport, especially when it comes to the fan base. Florida State entered the game as the highest-ranked ACC program and the favorite to win the conference and make the College Football Playoff. Now Norvell and company have a lot of work to do to tighten things up for the long season ahead.

The Seminoles will take on Boston College at home on Sept. 2. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
