WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: - The weekend has started with picture-perfect summer weather across the region and the summer heat continues to grow into Sunday. So will the humidity, making it feel quite hot by Sunday afternoon. - Highs on Sunday are expected to reach into the 80s for most away from the South Shore, possibly approaching 90 in northwestern Nassau County. When combining the temperature with the rising humidity, feels-like temperatures will be approaching 90 degrees. - The next chance for showers and storms will be Monday evening, particularly during the evening commute. Highs remain in the 80s, typical for most of this summer so far. - While it is still very early, the tail-end of the 10-day forecast now includes Labor Day weekend, which features a possible cold front sparking showers and storms next Saturday.
