Michigan State Football News: Why You Should Take the Over on MSU's 2024 Win Total

Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles is optimistic about the upcoming season, urging fans to consider betting on the Spartans to exceed their projected win total.

The current over/under for Michigan State is set at 4.5 wins, a figure that seems low given the team's potential.

Many thought he meant the point total for the opener against the Owls, but he was actually referring to the season win total according to Vegas.

Basically every major sportsbook has the Spartans sitting at 4.5 wins as the over/under which seems low to me considering Michigan State has averaged 4.5 wins over the past two years with worse coaching and less talented rosters.

Chiles has been part of the team's practices throughout the offseason and believes in the talent they possess.

With the Spartans averaging 4.5 wins over the past two years under less favorable circumstances, there’s reason to think they can improve this season.

Looking at the schedule, Michigan State has a good chance to start strong, potentially going 3-1 or even 4-0. A victory against Maryland, especially with their key player Taulia Tagovailoa gone, is within reach. The Terrapins have also never really been known for defense.

If they can secure a solid start, they would only need to win a few more games in the latter half of the season to surpass the 4.5 win mark.

Given the team's capabilities and the favorable schedule, betting on the Spartans to exceed their win total seems like a smart move, and they should get to a bowl game, even if it's just barely.
