I have a water heater that heats my water so hot that it is steaming coming out of the faucet. I pour that hot water into a pot and then pour in the pasta and let it sit for 2 to 3 hours minimum. The hot water will soften the pasta and the pasta will absorb a lot of the water making it much easier to use. Prior to putting the pasta in I go ahead and add salt to the water while I’m pouring it into the pot. Doing it this way I never have to boil the pasta. If you have the patience and the time letting the pasta sit for a minimum of three hours in the hot water will bring it to the right consistency..
