Since becoming the head coach at Ohio State in 2019, Ryan Day has compiled a record of 56 wins and just eight losses. Still, it remains what Day has not done with this program.

There are no National Championships during that time and the Buckeyes have lost three straight games to Michigan. The pressure is higher than ever and the main reason being the roster that Day has built in Columbus for the 2024 season.

Former Alabama head coach and likely the best the game has ever seen, Nick Saban, recently took the stand for Day on The Pat McAfee Show.

"I personally think Ryan Day is a really good coach & I think he'll do a really good job with his roster. If he has the best roster, who do you think got them there? The fans should appreciate the fact that they have one of the best teams in the country."

Saban knows a thing or two about winning and his resume shows that. He has built some of the best college football teams that we have ever seen and he has a whopping seven National Championships to show for it. That includes the 2020 win over the Buckeyes in the final game.

Ohio State returned a ton of talent that could have gone off to the NFL and was aggressive in landing some big names in the transfer portal. Perhaps the biggest get for the Buckeyes was safety Caleb Down s, who decided to leave the Crimson Tide following his freshman season when Saban retired. The Buckeyes brought in former Elite 11 winner and five-star talent Julian Sayin at quarterback from Alabama as well.

There is no denying that the pressure may be at an all-time high in Columbus, but a lot of it has to do with what Day has built. These players did not accidentally land in Columbus. Now, the Buckeyes just have to make it happen out on the football field.
