Cobb Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred early Saturday morning along I-75 south.  Special

One person is dead after a fatal collision occurred along I-75 early Saturday morning, Cobb Police report.

LaForest Williamson, 46, of Columbia, South Carolina, was driving southbound on I-75 north of Delk Road in Marietta in a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia and towing two Great Dane van trailers. A blue 2009 Nissan Altima, driven by Kejaunaye Rollins, 21, of Stone Mountain, with passenger Anetrya Johnson, 28, of Jonesboro, Georgia, was following the Freightliner.

According to investigators, at approximately 2:27 a.m., the Freightliner slowed due to traffic and the Nissan collided with the rear of the second trailer. The impact caused the Nissan to rotate counterclockwise, stopping partially in the fourth and fifth lanes, police say.

Rollins and Johnson were both transported to Kennestone Hospital, where Johnson was later pronounced dead. Rollins suffered serious injuries in the collision. Williamson was not injured in the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Department at 770-499-3987.
