Five-Star Alabama QB Commit Keelon Russell Shines In Recent Scrimmage

Over the last month or so, five-star quarterback and current Alabama commit, Keelon Russell , has made headlines all over social media.

The former SMU commit, flipped to the Tide back in June, earned his fifth star after his performance in the Elite 11 Finals during the summer, where he was declared the winner of the event.

Russell and his team played a scrimmage game on Thursday, as Duncanville prepares for their journey to a third consecutive Texas 6A D-1 state title. In this scrimmage, Russell would give a sneak peak at what's to come for his season, and a sneak peak for Tide fans to see as their potential future star quarterback.

Brett Greenberg, who covers Alabama sports for Bama247, shared a graphic on X of Russell's tallied statistics from the scrimmage.

We know it's only a scrimmage, but Russell possesses a very high ceiling and is now one of the top recruits for the 2025 class.

The highlight provides numerous positives out of Russell's game. We see his arm strength and accuracy, pocket presence, quick decision making, elusiveness to get out of the pocket, and quick acceleration to outrun the fastest of defensive backs.

The ceiling for Russell is high, and many scouts believe he will be a starter in the NFL one day. But the potential future star quarterback is riding all of the momentum, which could accelerate his progression before he joins the Tide in 2025.
