Mississippi law enforcement arrested a Mexican national who was in the US illegally, who may be connected to a weekend shooting that left three people injured and approximately 15 vehicles struck by bullets. Officers believe the man may have been trying to purchase an AR-15 to use in further attacks.

Philadelphia Police have arrested 31-year-old Jonathan Salvador in connection with shootings on Beacon Street.

Early on August 24, officers responded to reports of gunfire near Alford Avenue, leading them to a nearby home where they discovered a handgun in Salvador’s bedroom. A Mexican national believed to be in the country illegally, Salvador was also found with an AR-style rifle and ammunition during a subsequent search.

Investigators recovered nearly 30 shell casings matching the rifle from a lot near Salvador’s residence. Evidence suggests Salvador recently purchased ammunition and attempted to buy an AR-15 days before the shootings but was denied. Authorities suspect he may have been planning further attacks across the city.

Salvador faces multiple felony charges, including Attempted Murder, and is currently held at Winston-Choctaw Jail. The investigation is ongoing, with police examining potential links between this incident and other recent shootings at local businesses. More updates will follow as the case develops.
