At 90 years old, Jane Goodall has gone on many adventures in her life. Her work as an ethologist and primatologist has, quite literally, transformed the way we understand animal behavior and personality. Her work has also inspired countless others to pursue their own path in similar work. In fact, the Jane Goodall Institute exists to carry on her work long after she’s gone. But if you ask this infamous person herself, she will say she is not quite done with having adventures of her own.

You might be thinking, “What kind of adventure can someone have once they reach the age of 90?” First, more than you may think . But also, Jane Goodall recently shared that she views death itself as a type of adventure. This may sound a bit morbid, but Goodall finds a way to express her views in a way that actually feels hopeful. See for yourself in the video below.

While there are plenty of reasons to find the idea of dying scary, Goodall’s point of view is giving people pause. Rather than seeing the other side of death as a terrifying unknown, she views it as the next big adventure. This is something she believes whether there is “nothing” or “something” after death. Though, if you do ask for her opinion, Goodall believes there is something waiting for us.

No matter what you believe, though, there is something so comforting about Goodall’s wise, insightful words.

“Life is death’s opening act,” someone poetically shares in the comment section of the video, with another adding , “This woman speaks facts and wisdom the whole planet should hear.”

“I met her and was in awe of her clear understanding of life,” a third person shares.

I'm glad to see that someone shares my outlook. Death is just a natural part of life, and unless a person has knowingly caused harm to others, why fear the unknown simply because it's unknown? It truly is the next great adventure.
