It’s been long established that LSU is DBU or Defensive Backs University. Lately, it’s been turning more into wide receiver university as so many hugely talented prospects have entered the National Football League. Despite losing two first round draft picks in Brian Thomas Jr. and Malik Nabers, LSU is still loaded with highly touted pass catchers.

One of those players expected to have a huge season is CJ Daniels. He comes to LSU after four successful years at Liberty including a very productive 2023 where he scored 10 touchdowns and had 1,067 yards.

He talked about his expectations for himself and the team going into the season.

On how excited he is to be a part of this offense

CJ: First and foremost, I gotta thank God for the opportunity. It’s definitely a blessing to be part of an offense that’s very pass heavy and has done a lot of great things…so for me, I just come in every day looking to do what I need for the team.

On what he’s learned from Chris Hilton and Kyren Lacy

CJ: Coming in it was very cloudy for me, learning the offense. I’m a guy who every day is asking them questions on what I can do better. And just watching film, they have definitely been a big help for me coming in.

    What made you choose LSU?

CJ: For me, I was looking to play at the highest level. I think LSU was the perfect spot for me just because of the legacy of receivers.
