Members of the bipartisan task force looking into the Trump rally shooting toured the scene of the incident Monday with some of the lawmakers getting their first look.

Chaired by Republican Mike Kelly, whose district includes the site of the attempt, members are looking into what happened and will issue a final report in December.

They toured the Butler Farm Show grounds and the adjacent American Glass research facilities to get a better handle as to what happened when 20-year-old Thomas Crooks of Bethel Park tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump.

Democrat Luis Correa from Orange County says, this is bipartisan and that American Democracy was put at risk on July 13.

“We want our candidates to speak their minds, to make their opinions, their thoughts known to the American public, the voters,” said Correa. “We don’t want them to be afraid to speak their minds. We want to make sure we get to the bottom of this, make sure this does not repeat itself again, that our candidates are safe.”

Ranking Democrat Jason Crow of Colorado said there's no room for political violence in America.
