Money mistakes the super wealthy never make - that you might be doing now.

    Starbucks Pumpkin Spice K-Cups

    • Price at Costco: $32.99
    • Price at Walmart: $49.99

Fall means that there is one flavor set to dominate across your taste palette: pumpkin spice. And you can start with your cup of joe in the morning, using Starbucks Pumpkin Spice K-cups from Costco.

“If you use a Keurig and are looking forward to warm and comforting pumpkin spice coffees in the morning, stock up now,” said Melanie Musson, a mom of five and a shopping expert with InsuranceProviders.com . “They won’t carry this option for long, and it’s about 30% less than what you’d pay in the grocery store. A 64-pack costs $32.99.”

To compare, Walmart’s price for the Starbuck’s K-cups is $17 more.

    Kirkland Signature Organic Quinoa

    • Price at Costco: $10.99
    • Price at Walmart: $22.95

Two bags of quinoa. Both 4.5 pounds. Both from Kirkland Signature brand. But only one quinoa is available for roughly $12 less at Costco than at Walmart . In fact, according to Ashley Schuering, a food blogger and freelance writer at Confessions of a Grocery Addict , you can pick up a lot of great grains at Costco this fall.

“I follow the Abra Berens method of making a big pot of grains, a big pot of beans, and a few different sauces at the beginning of the week to mix and match for dinners. We go through a ton of rice (jasmine $22/25 pounds, basmati $16/20pounds, brown, sushi), oats (10 pounds for $8.99), and quinoa (4.5 pounds for $10.999), plus I keep a stock of RTE/microwavable grains [e.g. Seeds of Change ($1.5/bag), Bibigo sticky rice ($1/serving)] on hand for lazy nights or … to take for lunches,” Schuering said.

    Del Monte Cut Green Beans

    • Price at Costco : $12.99
    • Price at Walmart: $26.79

Do you want more beans for your buck? Then head over to Costco, where you can find a 12-pack of 14.5-ounce Del Monte Cut Green Beans for roughly half the price of what you’d pay at Walmart . Perfect for casseroles or side dishes this fall, you’ll be happy your kitchen is loaded up with green beans that the whole family will love.

If you want to switch up the kind of beans on your table this fall, Kristen Markel, a Costco expert and founder of Warehousewanderer.com, a Costco food website, recommended considering buying some Goya brand beans as well.

“Whether you prefer red kidney beans, chickpeas or black beans, Costco offers a great deal with eight 15.5-ounce cans for $7.99, which comes to just 99 cents per can,” Markel said.

“In comparison, Amazon Fresh sells the same cans for $1.79 each,” Markel added. “Goya is renowned for its quality, and these protein-packed beans are perfect for dishes like rice and beans or hearty fall soups.”

    Kirkland Signature Creamy Almond Butter

    • Price at Costco: $7.49
    • Price at Walmart: $16.39

Not just almond butter , but spreads in general. By spreads, that includes nut butters, jellies and jams, all available at Costco for cheaper than the competitive stores, like Walmart, which is almost double the price for the same 27-ounce jar of almond butter .

“If you have kids (or are just a kid at heart), PB&J sandwiches are a staple,” Schuering said.

Schuering went on to describe how “Costco makes it affordable to splurge on the ‘good stuff’ with deals like $7.49 for 27 ounces of almond butter (almonds and salt), $13 for 56 ounces of organic peanut butter (just peanuts and salt), $6.99 for 36 ounces of Bonne Maman jam.”

    Cinnamon

    • Price at Costco: $6.99
    • Price at Walmart: $14.87

There are a lot of ingredients that your pantry should never go without, cinnamon being one of them. You can get a jar of cinnamon sticks at Costco for cheaper than other stores this fall.

“Fall is the beginning of what I call ‘baking season’ — when I can make all the breads, cookies, cakes and muffins I want without fear of heating up the house,” Schuering said.

“If you bake a lot, you’ll go through cinnamon quickly in the fall,” Musson said. “You can buy bulk-size cinnamon for about the same price as a one-ounce cinnamon shaker at the grocery store.”

“If you purchase online, you have to buy a two-pack for $19.99. But if you purchase in-store, you can get just one,” Musson said.

Plus, with the holidays around the corner, cookies and pies are certain to be many Costco shoppers’ menus, which is why getting all your baking supplies now is a smart move.

“While Costco sells everything in giant containers, the price per unit/ounce is usually at least 15% cheaper than elsewhere,” Schuering said.

    Trident Cinnamon Gum

    • Price at Costco: $13.99 for a 15-pack
    • Price at Walmart: $27 for a 15 pack

Speaking of cinnamon, your favorite flavor of Trident gum will last you through the fall season for less than you can find anywhere else, according to Musson.

Shopping around at other competitors to Costco, you’ll find that to get the same amount, you’ll need to pay about twice as much if you decide to purchase this gum from Walmart.
