NFL peers diss Geno Smith in ESPN most-underrated quarterback rankings

Seattle Seahawk quarterback Geno Smith seems to be the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL. Not only are coaches, GMs and league executives ranking him far too low compared to his fellow starters around the league, but his peers themselves couldn't even muster a single "most-underrated QB" vote for Smith in a recent poll from ESPN.

103 players from around the NFL were asked a series of questions about quarterbacks , including the league's best QB, the biggest trash-talker and the most overrated. When it came to the category of most-underrated QB, somehow Brock Purdy of the Santa Clara 49ers managed to tie Matt Stafford of the LA Rams for the top spot with 14 votes.

Next, there was a four-way tie for second-place with Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff, Jordan Love and Bryce Young each receiving four votes apiece. Justin Herbert, Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa also received votes. but Geno received none.

Stafford is a deserving champion as far as underrated QBs go. However, we're convinced that Brock Purdy is a sophisticated psy-op intended to separate ball-knowing fans from the herd, but it seems scouts, analysts and players themselves have also managed to fall into the trap.

If it wasn't officially official before, now we know for sure that Geno Smith is the single most under-appreciated quarterback in the NFL right now.
