A TikTok User Shares The Simple Hack To Getting The Exact McDonald’s Collectible Cup You Want: Ask For It!

McDonald’s recently rolled out a nostalgic treat for fans with their Collector’s Meals , featuring collectible cups in six iconic themes: Barbie & Hot Wheels, Beanie Babies, Coca-Cola, Hello Kitty & Peanuts, Shrek, Jurassic Park & Minions, and McDonald’s. Naturally, one design has captured the hearts of many: the Hello Kitty cup. But how do you make sure you get the exact cup you want when ordering your meal?

TikTok user Haylee (@haylee_rivera) took to the platform to share her experience and reveal a simple hack her mom used to secure the highly coveted Hello Kitty cup. In her video, Haylee holds up the cup, saying, “I know this is what everyone has been talking about. And I’m going to tell you how I got this cup. How I got the Hello Kitty Snoopy cup.”

The Secret to Getting the Collectible Cup You Want

Haylee explains that her mom went to McDonald’s determined to get the Hello Kitty cup. “My mom went to McDonald’s and told them, ‘I need this cup. I will pay you extra money to get this cup.’ And she did. She said, ‘I need two of them.'” She then shows off a second cup, still wrapped, and adds, “This is the other cup she got, and I haven’t unboxed it. I don’t know how they know which is which.”

It turns out the employees can actually see the design through the bag, making it possible to choose a specific cup if they have the time or willingness to do so. But there’s also another way.

One TikTok commenter shared, “Every cup has a code on the back. The Hello Kitty one ends in 8324—that’s how you know.” Another added, “There’s also a number at the bottom of the bag. The HK one is 55038324.”

However, not everyone was on board with the idea of asking employees to go out of their way. As one McDonald’s employee commented, "Coming from a McDonald’s employee, we don’t look to see what cup it is because we don’t care and are too busy to care."

So, while there’s no guarantee that every McDonald’s location will accommodate specific requests, knowing the code or simply asking nicely might just be the trick to getting your hands on that Hello Kitty cup you’ve been dreaming of. Happy collecting!
