Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor's relationship officially crumbled after five years.

The Vanderpump Rules star filed the divorce papers on Tuesday, according to court documents obtained by The Mirror, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their breakup. The reality star couple previously revealed the split in February , but the court documents indicate that they were broken up since the month prior.

During an episode of the duo's podcast, Brittany said: "I think that we will have to address some rumors—just a little bit. I’m not going to go too hard on this because, you know, some people do deserve to have their privacy. But I will say—marriage is hard and people go through ups and downs all the time and it’s completely normal ... Sometimes people might need their space [and] sometimes they won’t."

She added: "I just want to make one thing clear and that is that my life is not a publicity stunt for anything ... I just want to make that very clear: no publicity stunts here.'

Brittany additionally asked the courts to award her lead and physical custody of their three-year-old son, Cruz. However, she does note in her request that Jax would be allowed visitation rights. Terms of their potential child support agreement were not noted, but Brittany requested that the court "terminate" the ability of the court to award any spousal support in the future.

As for their properties, more details are set to come. However, Brittany marked that she'd like "all properties acquired by Petitioner by gift or inheritance" and "all properties acquired by Petitioner before marriage or after the date of separation" to be considered separate as they hash out the details.

She further requested to be paid back for any attorneys fees and said that she "reserves the right to request reimbursement and credits and any other relief that the Court deems equitable.just and proper in this matter."

Brittany moved out of their shared home in February. She explained on the podcast: "Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health. I don't know what the future holds but right now my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz. I love you guys and pray for us. Everything will be just fine."
