GILBERTON – A tractor trailer bound for Schultz Drive in Delano instead went to Schultz Road in Gilberton and brought down a utility pole.

It happened around 2pm in the Long Row section of the borough.

Continental Fire Co. Chief Frank Jackowiak told the Sentinel the truck was bound for a plant in the MAJIC Industrial Park near Delano along Schultz Drive.

The truck — operated by Highlight Motor Freight, of Concord, Ontario — instead made its way to Schultz Road, a short stub in the back of the Long Row section.

Once in the patch town, the tractor trailer had no easy way out and became entangled in a utility line as it turned onto Long Row Road, bringing the utility pole down with it. The utility line belonged to a telecommunications utility, either Verizon Pennsylvania or Service Electric Cablevision.

No injuries were reported, though minor damage as seen on a home after its telecommunications service line was pulled down.
