For Kitten Kay Sera, pink isn't just a color, it's a lifestyle. The local figure known as the " Pinkest Person in the World " lives and breathes the shade, even more than Barbie one could argue, and her enthusiasm for all things girly extends into her professional life as an entertainer as well. She and her West Hollywood-based rock band Pinktastic Plastixx created National All Girl Band day (today, Aug. 27) to celebrate the camaraderie of women in music and to provide a spotlight for them. Tonight, they celebrate some deserving all female L.A. bands with a big show and party at the Whisky A Go Go.

"This day is so necessary to bring a spotlight to the all girl bands out there who are struggling for a platform," Kay Sera says. "We intend to rock the house like all the male bands do - but even harder because we got somethin' to prove."

If Kay Sera looks familiar, you may have seen her or her incredible home on television. From guest spots on The Drew Barrymore Show and more recently, Netflix's docuseries, Amazing Interiors , the monochrome queen has been celebrated as one of L.A.'s most intriguing characters. But she's also been a working singer for years and with her band, she hopes to bring her pink party vibes to more and more stages. The band were also just featured in the latest 'Ripley's Believe It Or Not' book, Level Up.

A total of five all-girl bands will perform tonight including: Pinktastic Plastixx, Plush , Turning Jane, The Anti Groupies and Halcyon. Pink & Boujee , the beloved all-pink taqueria will be outside of The Whisky with its PINK airstream food truck, which owner Yesenia Castro says will offer a “pink menu” for the evening. This writer will also be presenting trophies for the cause.

"I just found out that today in Afghanistan they announced that women there have lost the right to speak or show their faces in public... can you even imagine?" Kay Sera shares. "We will raise our voices in song tonight for them and for all the women who have lost the right!"
