River Market Antiques: a shop in Kansas City with four levels of a little bit of everything

    2024-08-27

River Market Antiques is located at 115 West 5th Street in Kansas City, Missouri. It was established in 1994, and has a 4.2 rating according to Yelp reviewers. It's open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This antique shop is even in a building constructed in the early 1900s.

Soon to celebrate its 20th year, the building housing this business contains 30,000 sq. ft. of antique shopping. According to its website, there are over 160 quality dealers.

Oh how I love River Market Antiques. This is one of my favorite antique malls in the city, and it's always the one that I bring out-of-town visitors to. (Source.)

The basement, first, and second floors have furniture and the top floor has clothing. You'll want to allow yourself some time to go through each floor.

River Market Antiques has a little bit of everything. Aside from antiques, it also has sports memorabilia and vintage clothing. One Yelp reviewer stated that everything in the shop had value.

The shop contains booths for individual private dealers. Since those dealers aren't usually present, it might be harder to negotiate the price of an item. According to a review on Tripadvisor, the best discount you can get is 10% off of a minimum purchase of $50 in a booth.

Overall, most like or love this antique shop, and you need to allow yourself time to go through the four levels. On Friday, September 13, the shop is having a Meet the Dealer on Friday the 13th night from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
