Oklahoma's Offensive Line NFL Pipeline Strikes Again With Strong Showing On NFL Rosters

The Oklahoma Sooners have been an offensive line factory for the last decade under offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh. Since he was hired in 2013, the Sooners have had 12 offensive linemen drafted, including back-to-back first-round picks Anton Harrison and Tyler Guyton.

Oklahoma's stout NFL pipeline showed up once more on initial cuts. The Sooners had four of their five starting offensive linemen from 2023 enter the NFL this offseason: Tyler Guyton, Walter Rouse, Andrew Raym, and McKade Mettauer.

Three of those four made their respective teams' initial 53-man roster. Guyton is the obvious starting left tackle for the Dallas Cowboys, Walter Rouse has emerged as a strong swing tackle option for the Minnesota Vikings, and Andrew Raym has emerged as the potential backup center for the Carolina Panthers.

Mettauer was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent, but suffered a freak injury in their first preseason game when a defender landed on his leg. The Chiefs placed him on Injured Reserve shortly after. If Mettauer had stayed healthy, it could have been a complete sweep of all four making an NFL roster this season.

Additionally, the Sooners had several other players stick on initial 53-man rosters. They are as follows:

    • Orlando Brown, Cincinnati Bengals
    • Cody Ford, Cincinnati Bengals
    • Anton Harrison, Jacksonville Jaguars
    • Creed Humphrey, Kansas City Chiefs
    • Wanya Morris, Kansas City Chiefs
    • Ben Powers, Denver Broncos

As it stands now, that puts Oklahoma with nine offensive linemen on an NFL roster.

Of the Sooners' 12 linemen drafted since 2013, eight of them are currently on an active roster. Of the four who aren't in the NFL, Daryl Williams made an All-Pro appearance in 2017 with the Carolina Panthers, while Bobby Evans made 12 starts with the Los Angeles Rams.

All told, 10 of the 12 have made an NFL impact, combining for 368 starts. That is a simply staggering figure, especially for a position as difficult as the offensive line.

This has certainly helped the Sooners on the recruiting trail as well. Last week, Oklahoma secured the commitment of 2025 five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi , who cited Oklahoma's ability to put linemen in the pros as part of his decision.

The Sooners have picked up steam on recruiting linemen recently. In their 2024 class, Oklahoma signed guard Eugene Brooks, a top-100 recruit and the number-three guard in the class, according to 247Sports, while also landing three-stars Eddy Pierre-Louis, Isaiah Autry-Dent, Daniel Akinkunmi, and Josh Aisosa. In 2025, the Sooners also have the commitments of four-star Ryan Fodje and three-stars Darius Afalava and Owen Hollenbeck.

Oklahoma's NFL success on the offensive line has made it one of the premier spots for development in the country, and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down anytime soon.
