Matthew Stafford’s Wife Offers 3-Word Warning to Taylor Swift, Brittany Mahomes

Having been an NFL wife for nearly a decade now, Kelly Stafford feels she has some sage advice for both those who are recently married or may potentially marry NFL stars in the not-too-distant future, specifically Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes.

In an interview with E! News, Kelly, who married Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford back in 2015, was direct and to the point when speaking about some of the pitfalls that come with being married to a high-profile athlete.

“Don't lose yourself,” Kelly said . “Don't try to become the person that everybody else wants you to become because that's what I did and I lost who I was. And that goes with personality, looks, all of it.”

Given her track record of dating high-profile people, Swift, who's dating kansas City Chiefs tight end Traivs Kelce, has seemingly no issue living very much in the public eye, and she’s had the better part of the last year to get used to the extra attention that comes with dating an NFL star.

Mahomes, who's been married to Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes since 2022, isn’t quite as adept in dealing with the public, however, and she’s recently come under a few times recently on social media. But Kelly’s advice for handling everything? It’s best to stay your true authentic self.

“You're going to have everyone telling you what you should look like, what you should say and not say, all of these things,” Kelly added. “And if you start listening, you lose the values and everything you have that makes you who you are, and makes you the person your husband fell in love with.”
