Could Travis Kelce be much more of a stud? Three-time Super Bowl champ. Dating Taylor Swift. Greatest pass-catching tight end in NFL history. Fledgling actor who has an upcoming cameo in Happy Gilmore 2 . Smash-hit podcast. Sounds like a decent life! As an intense student of acting, I recognize and appreciate the importance of physicality. Whether it's meeting the fitness-based rigors of a more movement-based character, or relaxing any lingering tension to put your best and most truthful work forward, Kelce has the background that suggests he can deliver the goods in his next career. Being able to thrive on the grandest stage in sports, the Super Bowl, and to keep one's composure —
well, for the most part — under those extreme circumstances alone makes me think Kelce has what it takes to be an actor. Additionally, though, casting directors should really take advantage of his athleticism, which is on full display here when he hits a flawless Happy Gilmore tee shot: https://twitter.com/Skratch/status/1828806501063917757 If you can emulate one of the cinema's greatest feats of hand-eye coordination, as innovated by Adam Sandler, that's a skill set that can really carry you a long way in Hollywood. Kelce should be up to the task of nailing action-based choreography as he begins his acting journey. I could actually see him embodying a mashup of a couple different modern archetypes, too. Some blend of that trademark Sandler immature man-child persona with the soft underbelly and the Himbo energy channeled by characters like Ryan Gosling's Ken. So anyway yeah, Travis, am I gassing up your acting outlook because I want you out of the NFL? Maybe kind of. As a Bengals fan, if you could just, you know, mosey on out of football, tie the knot with Taylor, and be content with three Super Bowls — four if you clip us in the next AFC Championship Game again — that would be great! In all sincerity, mad props to Kelce for nailing the vintage Happy Gilmore swing here. As somebody who's attempted this many times, I can attest to how difficult it is. Making clean contact with a driver is hard enough. Doing so while in full-body motion? That adds a whole other wrinkle to it. Shooter McGavin couldn't even do it! https://youtu.be/wBIhlie2rJI?si=fWxugBfLrJ4SlRn0&t=310
