House Dem Caught Sending Wildly Contradictory Letters On the Same Day — Declaring Support for Israel in One and Condemning It in the Other

Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) accidentally revealed that she has been sending contradictory letters to constituents about the conflict between Israel and Hamas when a mother and daughter received different responses to letters they sent to the congresswoman earlier this year.

According to The Washington Free Beacon, Wild’s office replied on the same day, May 21, 2024, to the mother-daughter pair, both of whom were urging Wild to use her office to support Israel. But staffers sent them two separate stock letters, with one focusing solely on expressing unwavering support for the Israeli cause and the other condemning Israel for the way it has prosecuted the war.

In the first, pro-Israel letter, Wild offers no criticism whatsoever of the Israeli government or even mention of the casualties in Gaza, leading with the declaration that “the vicious terrorist attacks launched by Hamas are disgusting and unforgivable. I stand with the Israeli people and all fellow Jews around the world during this time of terrible danger, fear, and worry.”

She even goes on to state that “Israel has a right to defend itself and will do everything I can as your representative to ensure Israel has the ability and capacity to restore and maintain its security and safety of all its citizens” and to boasted that she has has “voted consistently to provide the assistance Israel needs to be able to defend itself against all threats to its security.”

In second, more critical letter, Wild leads by professing to be “outraged, devastated and heartbroken” by the “unspeakable tragedy continuing to unfold in Gaza.”

While Wild devoted one sentence to condemning Hamas’ “vicious terrorist attacks,” she quickly pivoted to offering a scathing assessment of the Israeli response to them.

“Israel’s military response has inflicted devastation on staggering numbers of innocent Palestinian children, families, and civilians in Gaza, as well as medical personnel, aid workers, and others.”

She went on to tout her call for “the Biden Administration to act much more aggressively to convey to the Israeli government that its actions must be consistent with international and U.S. law.”

“For months now, I have been urging the Administration to use all the tools at its disposal to secure an agreement that leads to an immediate ceasefire and the release of all hostages,” she continued.

Wild’s office did not respond to a request for comment from the Free Beacon.
