The Minnesota Vikings made the difficult decision to waive former first-round pick Lewis Cine on Tuesday with final roster cuts. He ended up clearing waivers, meaning the Vikings could still be on the hook for the remaining money on his contract barring offset language.

On Wednesday, the Vikings saw their first-round pick of 2022 find his new team, as he is planning on signing with the New York Jets.

This is a much-needed fresh start for Cine, who played just 10 defensive snaps in his two seasons with the Vikings. He played in just 10 games for the Vikings and played 10 defensive snaps.

Cine goes to a Jets team that will give him an opportunity to grow and develop in a defense that will be a better fit for his skill set. Cine will also have the opportunity to face his former team in week six when the two teams face off in London.
