The famous chicken finger restaurant has just celebrated a milestone birthday in style!

Wednesday August 28th marked the 28th anniversary of Raising Cane's starting business. In order to mark the occasion, the city of Boston opened up a new store in the downtown area. As it turns out, its the company's 828th location and it's completely covered in gold.

A first in Raising Cane's history, the new restuarant has an entirely gold exterior and interior alongside gold walls, disco balls, seating, counters and floors. On top of that, it houses a gold cabinet filled with exclusive Raising Cane's merchandise.

The grand opening brought hundreds of Raising Cane's enthusiasts into the space. Some even lined up outside the restaurant overnight. Customers were also entered into a "Lucky 28" drawing where 28 winners were awarded free Raising Cane's for a year.

A few celebrities were in attendance as well. Those were Olympic gold medalist Jrue Holiday, singer JVKE (Who performed his song "Golden Hour") and former Red Sox player David Ortiz. While at the event, Ortiz made the bold prediction that local basketball team the Boston Celtics will once again win the NBA championship next year. The Celtics won the championship earlier this year which resulted in much fan frenzy in the team's home city.

The gilded restaurant in Boston's Downtown Crossing area is just one of the many ways Raising Cane's is celebrating its 28th birthday this year. More festivities throughout the country are being planned along with the company giving 28 million dollars in order to help local communities.
