As the New York Giants gear up for their season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, they will be looking to replicate the success of their last meeting. On January 15, 2023, the Giants secured a thrilling 31-24 victory over the Vikings, marking a rare win in their recent matchups. Since 2015, the Giants are 1-4 against Minnesota, with their sole win coming in that year's playoff bout.

In that post-2022 game, quarterback Daniel Jones led the Giants' offense with an impressive performance, completing 24 of 35 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns. Jones also led the team in rushing, with 17 carries for 78 yards, showcasing his dual-threat ability. Wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins emerged as a key target, with eight receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown. The Giants' offense tallied 431 total yards, including 289 passing and 142 rushing, and demonstrated strong third and fourth-down efficiency, converting 7 of 13 third downs and both fourth-down attempts.

The game saw the Giants build an early 14-7 lead with two first-quarter touchdowns, including a 28-yard run by Saquon Barkley and a 14-yard reception by Hodgins. The Giants continued to build momentum with a second-quarter field goal and a third-quarter touchdown pass from Jones to tight end Daniel Bellinger. Though the Vikings tied the game at 24-24 in the fourth quarter, Barkley's 2-yard touchdown run sealed the Giants' victory.

Looking ahead to this year's opener, the Giants have made several roster changes, opting for a younger, more dynamic group. Daniel Jones returns as the starting quarterback, supported by backups Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito. At running back, Devin Singletary, Tyrone Tracy Jr., and Eric Gray make up the core group, while the Giants' receiving corps features Darius Slayton , Wan’Dale Robinson, Gunner Olszewski, Malik Nabers, Jalin Hyatt, and Bryce Ford-Wheaton.

Veteran receiver Isaiah Hodgins, who played a key role in last year's win over Minnesota, was among the notable cuts, highlighting the team's shift towards youth and speed. The tight end group includes Daniel Bellinger, Theo Johnson, and Chris Manhertz, providing stability and depth.
