Giving Back to Henderson: Community Day of Service

It's always a good time to give back.

But since September 7th is the Community Day of Service in Henderson, now is as good a time as any.

    Community Service Projects

There are 20 different community service projects listed on the city website that are looking for volunteers.

    Those include:

Cornerstone Park Cleanup and Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve Cleanup

If you enjoy using any of the city's parks, this could be a perfect opportunity to give back.

    Red Cross Blood Drive

There is always a shortage of blood. Taking some time to donate could quite literally save a life.

Duffle Bags for Foster Children and Halloween Gift Baskets for Hospitalized Children

It's always good to give back to the less fortunate. But it's even more important when those less fortunate include children.

    YOUTH PROJECT: Project Pillowcase

This is a perfect opportunity to teach your children the value of giving back.

They will decorate pillowcases with messages of appreciation for our military heroes to sleep on each night.

Note: Some projects require advanced registration. You can register using this link.

For more specifics about individual projects, including those not mentioned above, visit the website.
