Meghan Markle Believes Her New Brand is Receiving Unfair Criticism

Amidst the "unfair criticism" directed against her new lifestyle business, American Riviera Orchard, Meghan Markle was reportedly left distraught and "in tears." The wife of Prince Harry released a video in March, offering viewers a sneak peek at her new endeavor while strolling her Montecito estate.

In the video, Meghan promoted her brand by baking sweets in her kitchen. Her company will offer luxury home goods such as home decor items, jams, fragrances, oils, and nut butter. However, there is no official debut date for her new company to launch, and the initial response to her sample products has been tepid.

The Duchess sent samples of her jam and dog biscuits to some celebrity pals, but the effort yielded little publicity or praise. “I imagine the pop-ups and the seeding, and a series of dinners will continue until some kind of official launch,” branding strategist Lucie Greene told the Sun in July.

Royal commentator and writer Tom Quinn stated, "The one fly in the ointment is Meghan's new internet brand, America Riviera Orchard. Meghan was in tears when the brand launched, and her new jam was widely mocked for being expensive and nothing special."

"She has reached the point now where she thinks that anything and everything she does will be unfairly criticized. Like her husband, she feels that people are unfairly picking on her—she cannot understand why people don't admire her work," reports the Mirror.

Adding to her woes, Markle has thus far been unable to secure a CEO for her latest endeavor. After only three months on the job, the couple’s chief of staff, Josh Kettler, quit. His departure marks him as the 18th member of staff working for the pair to resign.

There is no date as to when her products will be available for purchase.
