    Dallas Arboretum: Labor Day Family Fun Weekend

    Dinosaurs Live!

    Visitors can explore a half-mile nature trail featuring eleven life-size animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar. The exhibit also includes interesting facts about various dinosaurs, stationary baby dinosaurs for kids to play on, and photo ops with a Tyrannosaurus rex and Pachyrhinosaurus. An outdoor hadrosaur fossil dig will inspire budding paleontologists. The exhibit is included with general admission and free for Heard Museum members.

    FWBG: Seward Johnson Sculptures in the Garden

    Twenty-one life-size sculptures by the late artist Seward Johnson will be on display throughout the Garden, Mar. 1 – Sept. 1,  2024. This head-turning exhibit of “living” art will take Garden guests by surprise as they encounter sculptures that fool the eye and beg for double takes.     FWSO: Stars of the Symphony

    A trio of Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra musicians take the spotlight in a special performance celebrating the skill of Cowtown’s own musicians. First, Principal Violist DJ Cheek will perform Bruch’s achingly sweet Romance for viola and orchestra. English horn player Tim Daniels stars as the majestic voice of the swan in Sibelius’ epic tone poem Swan of Tuonela, and Principal Trumpeter Kyle Sherman gives voice to Tartini’s graceful and precise Concerto in D Major, a testament to the splendor of Italian baroque music.

    Granbury Labor Day Weekend Festival

    To wrap up the summer, the Historic Granbury Merchants Association is hosting a fun, family-friendly, and free event—the Labor Day Weekend Festival and Sidewalk Sale. Vendors will be lined up around the Square, and local shops will be buzzing with special Labor Day sidewalk sales. Kids can enjoy activities at the Plaza under the Pavilion. At the city beach, you’ll find all your favorite water activities, including kayaking, tubing, bike rentals, stand-up paddleboards, and more.
