The Cleveland Browns are reuniting with running back D’Onta Foreman. The seventh-year pro out of the University of Texas was released by the Browns on Tuesday as the team cut down to their 53-man roster.

Cleveland is Foreman’s fourth team in four years and his fifth team overall. He was originally drafted in the third round by the Houston Texans in 2017.

His best season came in 2022 when he was the feature back for the Carolina Panthers. He played in all 17 games and tallied 914 yards on 203 attempts with five touchdowns.

As of now it is unclear if Foreman will be on the practice squad or the active roster.

Foreman suffered a neck injury during training camp that resulted in him being carted off the field and airlifted to the hospital. His participation for the rest of camp was limited.

He carried the ball 10 times for 18 yards in the preseason.

With Nick Chubb on the PUP list, he isn’t eligible to return to the field until Week 5, leaving only Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong on the active roster.

Strong also suffered an injury in training camp that led to him being carted off the field and taken to the hospital.

As of now, the running back situation is very much up in the air as they prepare to for a Week 1 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.
