Jalen Brunson Bumps Mics with Mark Cuban

The 2022 offseason features a critical transaction connecting the Dallas Mavericks and the New York Knicks. When Jalen Brunson signed with the Knicks, both sides told different stories. Although it appeared to be an initial loss for the Mavericks, both teams have since succeeded, as the Luka Doncic-led franchise made the 2024 NBA Finals.

Not one to harbor negative energy or ill will, the Roommates podcast co-hosts Josh Hart and Brunson invited Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban onto the show.

The Roommates podcast is fresh from NFL legend Tom Brady's appearance on a live taping of the show. Since the Indiana Pacers eliminated them from the Eastern Conference playoffs, Brunson and Hart's commitment to their growing podcast has increased.

Cuban is on quite the run regarding public appearances. Recently, the co-founder of the Cost Plus Drug Company appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

While politics will unlikely come up during the podcast (at least not of the government variety), the discourse of the 2022 NBA free agency "debacle" will naturally occur. Brunson has talked about the Mavericks and Cuban since leaving, but a full-blown conversation isn't available for public consumption.

Brunson spoke of his time with the Mavericks in an interview with Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks. "It's not on them. I have the utmost respect for that organization. I talk to Mark, I talk to all of them. I just thank them for everything. There are no grudges; we all move on. It is what it is," Brunson said.

Despite a business decision that had the potential to ruin the relationship between the two parties, the Cuban and Brunson reunion will produce quality content and display their maturity.
