Former Star Georgia RB Signs With Cincinnati Bengals

    2024-08-29

This week has been a tough and stressful week for so many NFL players. Tuesday at 4 PM was the deadline for teams to trim their roster down to 53 by waiving, releasing, or assigning players to an alternative list.

However, in the days following, it opened the door for a massive wave of free agents hitting the market or the waiver wire, and that began a whirlwind of signings. Teams who are looking for their last chance before the start of the season to add talent at specific positions where they feel could be improved, and the Cincinnati Bengals did that on Thursday.

After being released from the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent, former Georgia Bulldogs star running back Kendall Milton signed with the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad.

Milton had a solid preseason but was competing in a crowded running back room for the Eagles. He finished his preseason campaign rushing 15 times for 49 yards and a touchdown. Averaging 3.3 yards per carry.

During his collegiate career at Georgia, in four seasons, he rushed 297 times for 1,839 yards, 23 touchdowns, and averaged 6.2 yards per carry. It's key to note that he shared the backfield with many high-level running backs. It's rare for Georgia to operate with a singular back. They split carries amongst two or three.

Now, he is in a much more unproven backfield and will have his opportunities to compete for a roster spot. He is currently behind Chase Brown , Zach Moss , and Trayvon Williams .
