The upcoming crime-action comedy K-drama Seoul Busters is all set to premiere on Disney Plus soon. Notably, well-known writers Lee Young-Chul and Lee Gwang-Jae wrote the screenplay of the series, with An Jong-Yeon serving as the director. The highly awaited Korean drama stars Kim Dong-Wook as one of the main characters, Dongbang Yoo-Bin.
The actor has previously played significant roles in several noteworthy K-dramas like My Perfect Stranger, Delightfully Deceitful, You Are My Spring, The King of Pigs, Find Me in Your Memory, and More Than a Maid, among several others. Kim Dong-Wook has also been a part of several notable Korean movies such as Trade Your Love, Hijack 1971, Three Summer Night, Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds, and more. Given his versatile acting, fans are excited to see the actor playing a new role in Disney Plus’ Seoul Busters.
New Disney Plus K-drama Seoul Busters: When is the release date?
Disney Plus recently released a poster on Instagram for the comedy crime-action K-drama Seoul Busters. The poster showcases all the lead cast members of the series and reveals the release date of the drama. The upcoming Korean series will stream exclusively on Disney Plus on September 11, 2024.
The preview image of the K-drama shows the five primary cast members standing together in a line with walkie-talkies in their hands. They all have a determined look on their faces, hinting that they are about to begin their quest to fight crimes.
Seoul Busters K-drama on Disney Plus: Cast & plot
Viewers will see Kim Dong-Wook as one of the leads, Dongbang Yoo-Bin, in the upcoming Disney Plus K-drama. His character is a high-ranking police officer with an excellent mind, handsome looks, amazing athleticism, and a highly impressive academic background. However, he sometimes shows unpredictable behaviors. He also has a witty sense of humor and incredible reasoning skills.
Dongbang Yoo-Bin receives an offer for a permanent professorship position at an esteemed overseas university. However, he suddenly arrives in Korea to volunteer to become the leader of Unit 2 of the Songwon Police Station’s Violent Crime Team. This particular squad is known for being the lowest in terms of arrest performance in Korea.
Besides Kim Dong-Wook, the main cast of Seoul Busters also includes Park Ji-Hwan as Mu Joong-Ryeok. The character is Violent Crime Team Unit 2’s veteran detective at the Songwon Police Station. He is also an ex-member of the national boxing team. Other than him, Seo Hyun-Woo will be seen as Unit 2’s lifestyle detective, Jung Jung-Hwan, while Park Se-Wan will take the role of the only female detective in the unit, Seo Min-Seo. Finally, the main cast also includes actor Lee Seung-Woo. He will play the role of Jang Tan-Sik, the youngest member of the Violent Crime Team Unit 2.
The K-drama will show the story of all four members of the Songwon Police Station’s Violent Crime Team 2 and their new team leader, Dongbang Yoo-Bin. They will team up to become the finest detective squad in the country from their low position. Thus, the audience is in for an exciting new Korean drama series.
