PRAYER circles were held behind-the-scenes and on-set of the new Netflix movie, The Deliverance, it has been claimed.
The set of the new scary movie to hit Netflix was seemingly haunted, with the cast holding “prayer circles” after the film director’s dog died on set and a star was rushed to hospital.
The Deliverance is the latest horror to land on the streaming platform, with the show premiering today (August 30).
It follows a family living in a home in Indiana , who discover “strange, demonic occurrences that convince them and the community that the house is a portal to hell”.
And now it has been revealed that the movie had some bad vibes on set, which is why prayer circles were introduced to the cast so that anything supernatural was deterred.
Director Lee Daniels read about what happened on set for other scary flicks such as The Exorcist and Poltergeist and he decided to have an actual deliverer present.
But although he took a huge step to stop anything bad or freaky from happening behind-the-scenes of his movie, a couple of strange things did happen.
Two examples of strange things happening on-set were his dog dying and a cast member being rushed to the emergency room.
Speaking in a new interview during a SiriusXM panel on Thursday, Daniels explained how he was aware that “things happen” on set, and he was determined to not let things happen on his set.
PRAYER CIRCLES ON SET
“And so we prayed before every — and there’s those of us that don’t believe in prayer,” he revealed candidly.
He then admitted that when the cast did the prayer circles, it was “really beautiful”, with him adding that he thinks they “needed it”.
But despite him taking the precaution with a prayer circle, bad things did occur.
“And even with that, there were still things that happened on the set,” he said.
Daniels then spoke of how his sister is in every movie that he has ever done as his “good luck charm”, adding, “And she was in the scene with Glenn in the chemo scene, and she’s the one that sort of gave her attitude in the chemo scene.”
STRANGE OCCURRENCES
He then revealed, “And two days later, after being in the chemo scene, she was diagnosed with the lung cancer — literally.”
And then Daniels dropped the bombshell that his pet died, adding, “My dog died on the set.”

Mo’Nique is a star in the new movie where she plays a social worker. Speaking at the same event, she spoke of how she was hospitalized after filming a scene featuring the demon.
“Mr. Daniels had me doing a scene, okay? And we’re outside. It was just, the demon was supposed to be on top of the building, so they kept blowing this… I mean, at one point I’m like, ‘Lee, do we have this shit because I can’t breathe,'” she detailed.
“So when I got finished, right, my thyroid was a big… I mean, it was just sick.
“Oh, baby. I was like, ‘What kind of sh** is this?’ It was a lot of things happening with ‘The Deliverance’,” she added.
