NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Sunco & Frenchie, based in New Jersey, issued a recall earlier this week for its Terrafina Golden Raisins due to undeclared sulfites, which could be deadly to people with allergies, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration .

The recall was issued after routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets found unlabeled sulfites in the product which poses a serious or life-threatening risk to those with sulfite allergies or sensitivities.

The affected Terrafina Golden Raisins were sold in New York through retail stores by Smith Valley Foods in 10-ounce, clear plastic containers with bright orange labeling.

The back of the package is marked with “Best If Used By 08/2025, Lot#GRA240602” or “Best If Used By 05/2025, Lot# GDR240901.” The UPC code is 847938001385.

No illnesses have been reported so far, according to the FDA.

Consumers who have purchased Terrafina Golden Raisins are advised not to consume them and to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.

For any questions, consumers can contact Sunco & Frenchie at 973-478-1011, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
