Suspected arrested after breaking into 42 vehicles at an apartment complex

August 30, 2024 - According to the Precinct 8 Criminal Investigations Division, a suspect was arrested following a thorough investigation into multiple vehicle burglaries that occurred on August 9, 2024, at the Caroline Apartments, located in the 1200 block of E Nasa Parkway. The burglaries involved 42 vehicles, including a marked Precinct 8 patrol vehicle.

Through the investigation, Precinct 8 investigators identified 23-year-old Dalen Traell Bright as the suspect. They obtained a search warrant for his residence and arrest warrants for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Criminal Mischief. On August 27, 2024, members of the Precinct 8 Criminal Investigations Division and the Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at Bright’s residence in the 700 block of Preston Avenue in Pasadena.

During the search, deputies discovered a handgun, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, all consistent with the sale and distribution of narcotics. Additionally, deputies located multiple stolen items, including police equipment. Bright was subsequently arrested during a traffic stop, where deputies also found a black mask and multiple window-breaking tools in his vehicle.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted additional charges against Bright for Possession with Intent to Deliver and Possession of a Criminal Instrument but declined to pursue theft charges for the stolen property. Bright was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where his bonds were set at $40,100. He was later released on a Personal Bond.
