Wendy's Secretly Started Using Pre-Cooked Bacon And Customers Are Furious: The 'New Bacon Absolutely Sucks'

It seems as if Wendy’s has switched over from fresh bacon to pre-cooked bacon, and though they tried to slide under the radar with it, loyal customers are furious. One particularly angry customer took to Reddit to share their thoughts on the switch, and their post has become a collection of reviews from fast food regulars who are more than disappointed with the downgrade in quality and taste. Reddit Users Reports On Wendy's New Pre-Cooked Bacon

Reddit user @Kano809 reported the news, writing in a post titled "Wendy's new bacon absolutely sucks" their full review. "Wendy’s stopped cooking their bacon in house instead this pre cooked cold bacon is slabbed on everything," they wrote. "The whole purpose of Wendy’s was to be a slightly better fast food option and now this has gone down hill completely. Crispy chicken blt something I used to love is now always cold and cold pre cooked bacon just taste so weird."

"The baconator fries something I used to love just comes with two slabs of u guess it cold bacon they don’t even crush it anymore," they continued. The baconator also just doesn’t taste as good anymore. When your menu items have so many bacon options you can't miss the mark this bad." Wendy's has yet to make an official announcement about the new, pre-cooked bacon, or offer any sort of explanation as to why they made the change.

Customers Are Furious Over New Wendy's Bacon

@Kano809's post drew quite a few responses from other fast food connoisseurs, with one person writing, "It’s not as good as what I remember now. It makes sense but at the same time sadly I’d still eat it."

"Wendy's is taking the approach Hardee's took in the late 1900s," another wrote. "They are lowering the quality of their food as a cost saving measure. The chicken is garbage now, you have encountered disappointing bacon, just wait for what is next. It didn't work for Hardee's."

"I know this is Wendy’s, but I stopped at McD’s yesterday and just got the bacon egg McMuffin and it was the same crappy bacon that Wendy’s is most likely using as it wasn’t the same as the old bacon at all and highly disappointing," shared a third user. "So it may be becoming the new norm for all of fast food."

"I had two jr bacon cheese burgers yesterday and almost broke my f***ing teeth on the sh*t bacon," one angry customer wrote.

"Fast food just isn't what it used to be," a final user wrote. " More money for less quality. It's just sad."
