Eagles Unveil Uniform Combination for Week 1 Contest

When the 2024 schedule was announced, one of the first matchups made public was the Philadelphia Eagles opening up the year in Brazil to take on the Green Bay Packers.

There was just one slight problem with the matchup announcement.

In Sao Paolo, the location for next Friday's contest, the soccer club Corinthians (which wears black and white) calls the stadium home, whereas the color of rival club Palmeiras is green.

There is an informal ban on wearing green for soccer games in the stadium, though sometimes it's formal due to the increase in violence during the contests.

While the NFL has announced no formal ban on the color green for any of their incoming teams, the Eagles have unveiled their color combination, and not a trace of green is shown.

Philadelphia will be opting for their black pants, white jersey, and black helmet. Green Bay will be wearing their normal Green and Yellow color combination instead.

For the Eagles, they are considered the home team, and their choice to wear black is seen as the organization trying to curry favor with the fans of Brazil as they try and secure a 1-0 start to the season against a talented Packers roster.
