16-year-old shot three times and killed, 18-year-old charged

On Saturday night in Hermitage, a 16-year-old was shot multiple times and killed.

Police have charged 18-year-old Raphael Jobehdari. He has been taken into custody and charged with the murder of Zeppelin Phillips, the 16-year-old who died.

The shooting happened near Phillips' Hallborough Way home, police say. They found Phillips lying in the roadway injured at 6:30 p.m., and immediately rushed him to Vanderbilt where he died.

SWAT officers executed a search warrant at Jobehdari's house. They believe the motive involved an anticipated gun sale, as they recovered three guns while searching Jobehdari's home.

Police say this is the second fatal shooting Jobehdari has been involved in. On January 31, he and Gavin Dauzart, 18, shot at each other during a drug robbery in Bellevue. Dauzart died, and Jobehdari was shot in the abdomen and leg. He claimed he was shooting in self-defense, and no charges were placed.

Even after nine years of calling Middle Tennessee home, my boys still say with excitement, "There's the Batman building!" every time we come downtown. It truly is unique! I loved learning more about its history and inspiration in this story. Love the old footage too! Check it out!
