We lost a beautiful filly to this it was heartbreaking. We were told that the stallion we wanted to breed our grullo mare to, was a tobiana but was actually a Tovero and out mare was an overo. After that we asked for blood reports. We knew then that our mare carried the lethal white gene. We only bred her to quarter horses after that. And when we put our Tovero stallion up for breeding we always asked for blood reports I. The mare’s I didn’t want anyone to go through what we did. She was a beautiful little white filly with brown eyes and she popped right up but the she started to colic and she never had her meconium bowel movement she passed away several hours later when we finally could get the vet out. If you are breeding anything please please be aware of genetics. Just because that animal is amazing looking doesn’t mean you will get a baby like that and you need to know what defects they have in their gene pool.
