I received my FIRST - Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) - in 1995 by HR - the company had been cutting 2,000-5,000 jobs a quarter - WE were told NOT to be ANGRY for working LONG hours - Company owes you any LOYALTY so said the Temp HR lackeys - I learned How - I owe my LOYALTY to my SKILLS not the company - I was hired and kept for my SKILLS - I don't work for Company X, "I work for myself" - The management is who I reported to, not worked for either! I survived for another 25 yin different groups and survived layoffs - my last group never went through the layoffs of 30 years AND MGMT hated how during introductions - I stated my name, " I work for myself and I report to Mgr XYZ and my loyalty is to my skills " - I was a company employee for 35 years and the last 25 many of my coworkers thought I was Outsourced employee even though I was Team Lead for IT Sppt and Engineering! VERY few Mgrs understand the new Business Model from Japan (Deming)!
