California theme park to require chaperones for teens at Halloween event following unruly behavior

Valencia, CA — Six Flags Magic Mountain will introduce a new chaperone policy starting September 7 for its popular Halloween event, Fright Fest Extreme. Under this policy, all guests aged 15 and younger must be accompanied by a chaperone aged 21 or older after 4:00 p.m. local time until the park closes.

The decision to enforce this rule comes in response to a rise in incidents of "unruly and inappropriate behavior" at theme parks and other entertainment venues across the industry. Six Flags aims to enhance the safety and enjoyment of all visitors during the high-traffic Halloween season.

To enter the park, chaperones will need to present a valid government-issued photo ID that includes their date of birth. Each chaperone can accompany up to 10 guests, must stay inside the park for the duration of their group's visit, and be reachable by phone.

This new policy will apply to both one-day visitors and season pass holders attending Fright Fest Extreme.
